Nosebleed - A Little Advice from Nicholas Culpeper 1616-1654

Put one end of a black Thred up the Nostril. Set fire to the other end. When the smoak reaches the nostril bleeding will cease.


Nicholas Culpeper (1616–1654) was an English botanist, herbalist, physician, & astrologer. He published The English Physician (1652) and the Complete Herbal (1653), to help folks in the 17th century deal with medical problems & healthy living. He also wrote Astrological Judgement of Diseases from the Decumbiture of the Sick (1655), to detail his beliefs about medical astrology.
