Take a young Dog, kill him, flea him, take out his Guts, fill his belly with Water-frogs. Roast him and save the Dripping for Gout.


Nicholas Culpeper (1616–1654) was an English botanist, herbalist, physician, & astrologer. He published The English Physician (1652) and the Complete Herbal (1653), to help folks in the 17th century deal with medical problems & healthy living. He also wrote Astrological Judgement of Diseases from the Decumbiture of the Sick (1655), to detail his beliefs about medical astrology.
